The planned formation of the European Super League occurred during the Covid-19 pandemic. European Super League clubs want to improve the quality and intensity of existing European competitions throughout the season and create a format for top clubs and players to compete regularly.

Florentino Perez as president of Madrid was appointed President of the European Super League. Juventus President Andrea Agnelli, Liverpool owner John W Henry and Manchester United owner Joel Glazer are his representatives.

The competition is planned to start from August to May. The participants get lucrative performance money, about 300 million pounds or almost Rp 6 T, the amount of which can increase according to appearance.
